Life is Beautiful
It certainly is beautiful, especially with the father like Guido. One of the most bitter sweet films of the past 20 years.

Propaghandi — Less Talk, More Rock
Socio-political punk from Canada with all manner of talk about how much "the Man" sucks. I'm not exactly sure who "the Man" is in Canada, but if he's doling out free health care, he can't be all that bad.
Misfits — Walk Among Us
High priest of horror business, Glenn Danzig, turned the punk scene on its ear by mixing poppy hooks with some of the most politically incorrect lyrics you'll ever hear. Not the most technically proficient group in the annals of music history, but goddamn did they make some catchy fuckin' tunes.
Led Zeppelin — In Through the Out Door
Not exactly Zep's finest hour — but for die-hards, I'm sure it's still considered acceptable. Then again, even hardcore Dead fans excommunicated Shakedown Street.

The Interview
Too much Franco, not enough Rogan. Two words:

Alice in Chains — Dirt
A masterpiece of morbidity, cynicism, and self-loathing, as seen through the glaze and haze of the late Layne Staley's eyes. Kinda makes you wonder where Alice in Chains would fit in where musical history is concerned had he not been a junkie.

Iron Maiden — Somewhere in Time
How do you rate Maiden's album oeuvre from best to worst? Consider the last dozen or so orgasms you've experienced, attempt to place them in some discernible order, and you're pretty much there.
ONYX — Bacdafucup
Heavy on gangsta talk, light on gangsta walk. Have any of these guys even run afoul of the law? IRS stuff doesn't count.

Afrika Bambaataa — Planet Rock: The Album
"We like to body rock the party!" If that don't get you outta your seat and movie' to the groovin', you probably shouldn't have the privilege of standing, anyway.
Curtis Mayfield — Superfly
A stone cold funk soundtrack from a low-budget blaxploitation classic. Better than Isaac Hayes' "Theme from Shaft"? Damn right.
Livin' Thing — An Oral History of Boogie Nights
Fascinating collection of quotes and anecdotes about the making of Paul Thomas Anderson's epic masterpiece, directly from the cast, crew, and PTA himself. Reads like a documentary plays out. Superb.
Sepultura — Arise
Soul crushing thrash metal from south of the equator. Max and the boys in top form.
Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall
A pair of virtuoso jazz pioneers playing together in the most famous hall in the world? No brainer.
Vain — No Respect
Highly undervalued sleaze rock act from the late 80s, who made a blip on the scene, but ultimately flew under the radar of larger bands of the day. Tease up your locks, throw on a sleeveless mesh top, and belt out the catchy chorus of each and every song on this glorious glam album. Seriously. It's that good.
Prince — Batman
Bizarrely experimental concept album by musical genius and well-known lover of griddled breakfast batter, Prince. As much as I love his mainstream joints from the 80s, it's this cacophony of pop and artistic bravado that welcomingly haunts me.
NoMeansNo — The Day Everything Became Isolated and Destroyed
